At Panorama, student privacy is fundamental to our mission of improving education for every student.
That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that Panorama Education has successfully completed our first Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) Type 2 examination.
This achievement underscores our commitment to keeping data safe and secure. We earn the trust of educators, families, and students by safeguarding their privacy in everything we do.
What is SOC 2?
Achieving SOC 2 Type 2 compliance demonstrates that we’ve implemented robust security measures to ensure that our school and district partners’ data is safe.
SOC 2 is a framework for managing client data developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). It provides guidelines and auditing processes to ensure organizations handle data securely and protect the privacy of their clients. We opted to undergo the SOC 2 Type 2 audit, which evaluates the design of security controls, as well as their effectiveness over time.
This thorough evaluation examined our security measures based on two key trust service principles: Security and Confidentiality.
- Security: We proved that our systems have the proper controls in place to ensure data is protected against unauthorized access through its entire lifecycle.
- Confidentiality: We certified that information classified as “confidential” by our users is truly treated as such.
Why This Matters
Achieving SOC 2 compliance reaffirms our commitment to upholding stringent levels of data security and integrity when it comes to student data, allowing administrators, educators, and families to focus on what they do best: supporting students.
